I felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir. This is a time of sober reflection and a time of sacrifice and charity toward our fellow believers and others.
We must continue to see ourselves as a community knitted together for service. Our country today needs us all to contribute whatever we can make – individually and collectively to make Nigeria great again.
This critical time in our nation’s history requires prayers but also
positive actions. I call on you all to remain in the spirit of humility
and great sacrifice which form the foundation of Eid-el-Kabir.
Let us celebrate in moderation and with contemplation, seeking opportunity to reflect the great ideals of our faith particularly as the nation faces an economic recession. We must remain hopeful, prayerful and committed as government at all levels strive to create a more beneficial and just society.
Once again I wish you all a happy Eid-el-Kabir.
