A life of sacrifice

I rejoice with the Christian faithful in the Lagos Central Senatorial District, Lagos State, and Nigeria as a whole on the commemoration of the resurrection of Our Lord Jesus.
Christ lived a life of service, going around teaching, healing and doing good. Also, the suffering and death of Jesus, for the redemption of mankind, a race of people who vilified him, is the most notable act of service and sacrifice known to mankind.
Jesus, through his life exemplified giving of oneself, sacrificial service and consideration for others. Likewise, opportunities to serve abound in our communities, workplaces and religious centres. As is commanded in Romans 12:1 ‘I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service’ (KJV). We must embody service to God and humanity, eschewing bitterness and living in harmony.
In addition, this is a call for only those who mean well for the greater good of our Country to aspire to public service. Likewise, we must ensure even as another electioneering season approaches that we only support those whose mandates reflect the greater good of us all.
Once again, I felicitate with you all and wish you the blessings of Christ’s resurrection. Happy Easter.
