Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, (ACN/Lagos Central), on Tuesday called on corporate bodies and individuals to assist the Federal Government in the development of education.
Tinubu, who gave the advice on Tuesday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, called on corporate organisations and public-spirited Nigerians to partner with various institutions, especially in the areas of funding and provision of amenities.
NAN reports that Tinubu is in the Sen. Uche Chukwumerije-led seven-man Senate Committee on Education, currently vising Lagos where it is undertaking oversight functions of educational institutions the state.
According to Tinubu, there is the need for private organisations to increase the level of their collaboration with educational institutions in the provision of basic facilities and funding that will ensure productive teaching and learning.
She said that some tertiary institutions were in dire need of facilities, including accommodation for their students.
