I felicitate with the Christian community, the good people of the Lagos Central Senatorial District and Nigerians all around the world on the celebration of God’s divine love to mankind – the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Christmas is the season of reflection, gratitude, celebration and giving. It is a time to reflect on the birth, life and gift that God gave mankind. We must also reflect on the happenings and events of the year, our Nation’s economy and the way forward.
Regardless of the pervading economic situation, it is imperative that we do not despair or lose sight of the things that are working well for us. Other Nations have overcome worse and come out stronger. We must continue to pray for our leaders and for the Nigeria of our dreams.
We must remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. I implore us to put into practice the virtues of love, kindness, generousity, brotherliness, godliness and tolerance that are hallmarks of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. This will ensure peaceful coexistence, progress and ultimately, the realization of our national goals.
We must also remember to extend a helping hand to the needy in our communities.
