June 12 can’t be wished away – Oluremi Tinubu

Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Tuesday said June 12, 1993 was watershed in Nigeria’s political history.

The Senator, who represents Lagos Central Senatorial District, said this during the opening of her constituency office in Yaba, christened ‘Rehoboth House’.

She said, “There is no other date I would have chosen that would have been as significant as June 12.
June 12 for us at the Action Congress of Nigeria reminds us always of the price paid to pave the way for the democratic dispensation we are currently experiencing for the past 13 years.

June 12, 1993 was a day that those of us who experienced it would never forget; it cannot be wished away. Our nation rose as one to speak with one voice through an election adjudged as the freest and fairest in Nigeria.”
