Humble beginnings

I felicitate with the people of Lagos Central Senatorial District, Lagos State and Nigeria on this year’s yuletide in commemoration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

While Christmas is a joyous season, it calls for sober reflection on the purpose of Christ’s coming; marked by merriment and festivities, it should also be time to extend a helping hand to those around us. Beyond nourishment of the body with food and drinks, we must in this season, nourish our souls and minds.

One of the greatest lessons in the circumstances of the birth of Jesus is ‘humble beginnings’. Born in a manger where sheep and goats were kept, he went on to perform so many miracles, die for the sins of mankind and redeem us all.

We must realize that as a Nation, these are our years of small beginnings. Things will get better and Nigeria will be great again. We must not lose faith in the future of Nigeria.

In this season, we must also put aside our religious and political differences and reflect on the foundation of Unity on which Nigeria was built in order to foster peace in our Nation.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and the Blessings of the Season.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, OON.
