Recognition of Lagos as a special State: Senator Oluremi Tinubu to lead second reading on bill

Senator Oluremi Tinubu (Lagos Central) will today on the floor of the Senate, lead the second reading of a bill for an act to establish a “Lagos State Special Economic Assistance Programme.”

The bill which is being sponsored alongside Senators Ganiyu Solomon (Lagos West)and Olugbenga Ashafa (Lagos East), primarily seeks to grant a special status to Lagos State in recognition of its importance as the former Federal Capital of Nigeria and its commercial nerve centre.… Read the rest

Unemployment: Nigeria is a nation at war – Tinubu

Former First Lady of Lagos state, and senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has stated that Nigeria is currently at war due to the rate of unemployment in the country. Mrs Tinubu said that eminent Nigerians must create opportunities for jobless youth to earn a living.
